An Expedition on Identify Greenpreneurs of Kenyir’s Lakeshore Community was organized by the Centre for Socioeconomic Development (CSD), Kenyir Research Institute (IPK) on 26th March 2015 in Hulu Terengganu. It was held to obtain information and data on greenpreneur activities for each community product that has the potential to be commercialized. This expedition focused on two greenpreneur products which are sour milk products of buffalo in the Kampung Buluh and cucumber sticks fertigation project in Kampung Basong, Hulu Terengganu. It has involved the agencies of the Entrepreneur Development Foundation (YPU), MARDI, the Agriculture Department and District Office of Hulu Terengganu for the dissemination of information regarding advice or funds that can be applied for.
The main objective of the expedition was to gather the basic profile of the enterprise and greenpreneur products of selected villages around Kenyir Lake for further study at UMT, identify greenpreneur and potential commercialization of green products to local, national and international level and build networks and relationships with government agencies that are involved in sectors related to greenpreneurship. A total of 8 researchers and 7 staff of UMT and 5 representatives of agencies were involved in this expedition.
